MOORPARK, Calif. – Kavlico, an operation of Schneider Electric and a global business unit of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) has designed a differential sensor for use with after-treatment systems to monitor particulate mater (PM) in diesel engine exhaust. Mandated by EPA regulations, Kavlico provides multiple pressure sensor solutions for the emerging emissions monitoring market. These sensors communicate data to determine when the system should regenerate or burnout toxic exhaust particles from the DPF filter.
These robust Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) sensors incorporate a highly reliable and field-proven, ceramic capacitive sensing element. They provide a linear amplified output signal of 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc, which is proportional to pressure. Other features include EMI/RFI, reverse polarity and short circuit protection.
These highly accurate devices are designed to measure 0 to 750 mbar and have a proof pressure of 2 bar. The sensors have an operating temperature range of -40° to +125°C and can withstand the high vibration environment often found in on & off-highway vehicle applications. The rugged composite housing is well suited to operate in exhaust media settings where corrosion durability is required due to high soot, gas and acid levels.
Kavlico is an operation of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) and is a global business unit of Schneider Electric. Kavlico is a leading manufacturer of pressure, position (LVDT & RVDT), force, level, tilt, media quality, and other specialty sensors and transducers for the transportation, industrial, and aerospace & defense markets.
